Profiles

Cura now includes profiles for the MP Select Mini V1 and V2. Go to “Settings”, “Printer”, “Add Printer…”, “Other”. Select the radio button next to the printer, then “Add Printer”.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT CURA 3.5.0 - Cura 3.5.0 has the “Compatible material diameter” setting defaulted to 2.85 mm. Manually changing to 1.75 mm within the Machine Settings does not work. The “Compatible material diameter” setting can be changed and will look like it is changed but slicing will still treat it as though the diameter is 2.85 mm.

The Fix: Use Cura 3.6 instead

NOTE: This profile works with Cura 3.0.4. This profile may not work with Cura 3.1.0. It seems that the only problem is the nozzle diameter drop-down doesn't work. The default nozzle size for the profile is 0.4mm so as long as the printer has the stock nozzle (0.4mm) installed this profile should work.

Installation Instructions

The steps shown in the video are almost identical for the Select Mini.
The main difference is the name of the printer you select in the “Add Printer” wizard.

  1. Run Cura at least once.
    • If you have never opened Cura:
      1. Open Cura
      2. Click “I understand and agree”
      3. Close the “Add Printer” wizard
      4. Close/Exit Cura
  2. Unzip the downloaded file to a destination of your choosing
  3. With Cura closed, copy the definitions, meshes, quality, and variants folders into your user settings folder.
    • Windows: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\cura\3.0
    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/cura/3.0
    • Linux: ~/.local/share/cura/3.0
  4. Open Cura
  5. From the “Add Printer” wizard click “Other” then scroll down until you find “Monoprice Select Mini”
